Off the top of my head, I think that Group I/Group II thing might have something to do with germination procedures. For instance, Group I might need a cold period, or Group II might need heat, etc.

I'm not exactly sure, and when I first read your post I thought I had no idea what you were talking about, lol, but then I did have a vague memory of either seeing something like this on a seed packet or in a catalog.

What catalog(s) are you looking at? I think, if I remember correctly, that Park Seed, for example, groups their seeds in this manner.

Either way, it should say somewhere in the catalog itself what this grouping refers to.

I know greenhouse snapdragons are classified as group I-IV based on whether thay are winter, spring, summer or fall flowering. I grow Opus (group III-IV) because I like the colors and it does just fine outside, so they don't have to be grown in a greenhouse. There is a similar classification system for lisianthus, where Group I is winter, II is spring and III-IV are summer and fall flowering.
