That's a lovely poem! I've not seen that painting before either.

Thank you for all of your pictures and posts also, I'm glad you find the time to share with us.

Wishing you a happy and restful Christmas and New Year.

    Flower Lady,

What a lovely Christmas greeting! Like Kent, I was unfamiliar with the poem and the painting, but you combined both with such a lovely piece of music to create a touching, meaningful greeting.

I have always enjoyed your posts and pictures from your garden, and more importantly your graceful and warm personality.

Merry Christmas, and may the upcoming year bring nothing but the best.

    Flower Lady,
Thank you so much for the beautiful greeting, its serenity was "heaven sent" on this Christmas morning when I am frazzled . . . still in my nightgown, wrapping last minute gifts and hunting for my car keys. Why I took valuable time to visit the Cottage Garden is now apparent!
Many blessings upon you and yours!

PattiOh who now recalls where she put her keys. :-)

Merry Christmas morning everyone. Hope you are all enjoying the day whatever you are doing. It is gray, very windy, humid and looks like we may get some rain. It is 81 feels like 83. It is supposed to get up to 84 and feel like it's 89. Sheesh! The weather is to change, turn 'cold' (to us), tomorrow and be cool the rest of the week. That will be nice.

I did go out and mix up some potting soil to repot a rose I got from our NC vacation this year. Was starting to 'glow' so came back in to the a.c.

I am going to post some pictures over in the gallery that were taken from the 22nd to this morning.

Thank you all for your holiday and new year wishes. I really enjoy making the different web pages.

Kent ~ Glad you like the poem and the painting. I thought they went together. The artist of the painting is English and I think she painted it in 1990. It is a happy painting.

Marilyn ~ Putting the music to the page is like the maraschino cherry on top of a sundae. It just brings it all together. I need to find some more midi files of all kinds of music.

Memo ~ How are things in your cold part of the country? Do you have any pictures or wonderful tales to share?

Edna ~ Hope things are quiet at your place this Christmas. I've got seeds to get planted from you for winter/spring blossoms. Thanks again for sharing last year.

Patti ~ How great that you found your car keys while taking a quiet minute here in GW.

Enjoy the rest of your day and have a great week and a Happy New Year.

Thank you for the Christmas wishes, flowerlady. So thoughtful of you. I hope you are reaping the benefits of the wishes sent your way.

I also hope everyone else has enjoyed a wonderful Christmas in whatever way you each celebrate it - with crowds of family or just a few.

    Merry Christmas All!

Mora ~ Your loving wishes just came right out of the monitor this morning. They made me feel good.

Balsam ~ I feel blessed to have friends here who feel like family to me.

We had a nice quiet, Christmas and it felt good. I fixed the other turkey breast from Thanksgiving, along with some cornbread/sausage stuffing from same dinner, made some mashed potatoes, heated up some asparagus spears, had some cranberry sauce and rolls too along with a bottle of white Bordeaux wine. For gravy, I used a can of cream of mushroom soup with marsala added, put that over the stuffing and the turkey breast as they reheated in the oven. Yummy! Of course, we had cookies and candy too during the day. Eggnog with marsala in the morning when we started opening our gifts. ;-)

The new year is almost here and I wish all of you here in Cottage Gardens a wonderful year filled with beautiful gardens, good health, happiness and prosperity in all that you do.

    Best wishes ~ FlowerLady

Dear Flowerlady, what a lovely combination of painting and poem to wish us a Merry Christmas! Thank you! I particularly loved the painting and its naiveté. I also enjoyed your description of your quiet Christmas, especially since ours was a bit turbulent...

Wishing you all the best for the new year, thanking you for your ever calming influence in this forum and the inspiration you provide to all of us with the photos from your lovely garden.

I loved those cards, especially the ballarina card. How great that these old threads from last year are coming to the top because of new members finding them. We're all still here and all still good friends. What a nice comforting thought that is to me. Again, Wishing you all sweet blessings this Holiday Season. Merry Christmas one and all.

Netgardweb ~ Thank you and welcome to this wonderful forum. Do come back and post about your gardens and post pictures too, as we love pictures.

Memo ~ Those wonderful old cards really are something. They remind us of simpler times. It is great having our Cottage Family here anytime we wish to visit. When I first saw this, I though what the heck, I didn't post a Christmas wish yet this year. :-) It was nice to come back to last years' wishes for you all and read all the responses, it was a gift.

Patti ~ Hope you are keeping warm and are all ready for Christmas.

Thank you all again for being here and for everything that you have shared about your gardens, family and life in general.
