The jury is out on this one. Many say they don't come true & many say they do. I would say if the seed is polyembryonic at least one of the plants will be true to type.

Mr. Texas has saaid that Yuzu does not come true from seed. I am not all that sure. If you look up Yuzu on the internet many wholesallers sell and propagate Yuzu by seed. I am in the Yuzu true from seed camp untill proven otherwise. I've grown Yuzu from seeds and can't tell the difference - Millet

Thanks for your input! I found some fresh (we'll see) seed on Ebay for really cheap, I am giving it a shot. An individual, not one of the seed joints with the lousy Watchdog raitings. i should get them tomorrow?

Yuzu usually comes true to seed, although once in a while there is a zygotic seed.

(in fact this is one of the indicators that point to yuzu not being an original species, since the original non-hybrid citrus species produce all zygotic seed)

Parker, I don't think it's a good indicator. For example, trifoliate orange produces mostly true to seed, and it is an original species, not a hybrid.

Trifoliate produces somewhere in the range of 80-97 percent true to seed, while Flying Dragon may be as low as 70 percent.

Ichang papeda, from which yuzu is obviously closely related, produce entirely zygotic seeds (not true to type).
