Favorite Corals?

18 years ago

I think we've covered every other color, but I don't remember doing a "favorite corals" thread -- and I do believe coral is my favorite daylily color. Here's a few to start it off --

{{gwi:654987}}

A couple of oldies --

{{gwi:654989}}

{{gwi:654991}}

{{gwi:654993}}

{{gwi:654995}}

And two of my favorite Munsons (although Cherry Chapeau isn't listed as coral, it always appears that way in my garden) --

Show me your beauties.

    Kay I love this one

  • 18 years ago

    Jan, I especially like Coral Corduroy and Siloam Sunburst. It's hard to find a coral that isn't too orange or too pink. And you just had to go and tease me with Etosha, didn't you?

    Kay, Coral Crab is gorgeous, and so is your picture. Hope you can find more.

    Chris

  • 18 years ago

    Chris, I promise, if Etosha has increased enough to share, I will trade you a piece of it. I'm sure you have a nice Munson that I don't have!! :)

    I think ya best add it to your list Jan....LOL LOL Remind me again in April...I'm getting Old and forgetful....:)

  • 18 years ago

    Rick, your pics of Southern Coral are great. I added that one last summer, but didn't get to see any blooms.

    Laurel, Zagora is a beauty (although I think I've told you that before).

    Ellie, Lizard's Lair has been on my "probably" list. After seeing your pic, I'm convinced I need that one.

  • 18 years ago

    Rick, do you think the climate has something to do with colors? Your SC is a different color than mine. I would be axious to see the color of her from Jan's garden since she is even warmer than me!

    Chris, I think LL is prettier than in my pictures. Very eyecatching...Ellie

  • 18 years ago

    Got ya Rick....send her on down to warm AL.....Ellie, maybe you'll get too see what she looks like down here sooner than you thought! :)
    Chris...the more I look at her the better I like British Morning..is the photo true to color? May have to hunt that baby down too!! So much for not making new beds this spring, huh? LOL

    Jan, the photo color is accurate for the flower in my garden, but I saw a pic where it looked a bit more pink. I was wowed when it bloomed the first time -- the coloration reminds me somewhat of Grand Old Flag (another favorite), except more coral than red.

    {{gwi:655075}}

    Cherry Chapeau usaually has a bit more orange than the picture making it a very deep coral for me..

    Thanks Ellie, Chris, Jan. I really like Southern Coral too. Ellie....I don't know how much the temps effect her...I have only added composted horse manure to my beds...so I doubt it would be anything else....maybe just the somewhat cooler temp's....the humidity was terrible this past Summer....maybe it likes that...LOL I know I don't!..:) It grew really well last year...will be interesting to see how it does over this Winter......
