Never thought I would see this

Just like most of you, our weather patterns have been on a roller coaster. We've gotten plenty of rain, go down in temps but then back up. This morning while checking the front garden beds I was quite surprised to see this scape on Energy Ribbon. At least it isn't terribly short like the early blooms in June. I doublt it will fully open since we are headed back to chilly temps again by tomorrow. First time I've had scapes come up this late in the season.

This is what it looked like when it had its first bloom in early June.


Many of the other perennials and some annuals are still blooming. I had to move one of the daylilies last week because it was crowding out other plantings. Garden cleanup is creeping up on me so I hope we get a couple of days without rain. Did I just type that to not get rain? LOL.
