the deer dont seem to care for mine. I have never seen them near it, while some of my other trees they are striping clean in the spring and summer.

Nope, "my" deer will even eat peonies but they've never tried my wisteria for some reason. Now Japanese Beetles are another story...

When I lived in deer country my deer did not eat my wisteria. To be on the safe side, since you only have one plant to worry about, get some Liquid Fence and spray the wisteria. It will have to be reapplied every several weeks or after a rain or watering that will wash it off. I found it to be very effective against the deer...they did not like the smell.

Depends. Some deer won't eat wisteria. Some will. At our new home, we have a wisteria vine that is big and healthy, yet the deer love to nibble on the fresh tips of new growth. But my wisteria is so large and healthy that I actually appreciate when they do, as my wisteria is growing out of control. Hahaha. If your wisteria can handle a little nibbling, you may want to try unwrapping the wire protection for a day to see how it goes. If it is too small, then maybe wait until it is healthier and larger when it can take deer nibbles easier. Good luck!

I didn't worry about it because I had heard deer don't eat wisteria but the deer in my yard do. I planted one this spring and late summer they ate all the new growth. Seems deer in my neighborhood eat anything I plant. I'm convinced they watch me from the forest and think wow, she planted something new for us to try or awesome she is cleaning/watering the greens for us😫🤣
