I've had great results with the deer and drought tolerant garden all winter. Most of it was planted in 2007. The deer herd hasn't wandered through lately since the woods and fields are sprouting again with the spring weather.

It's nice to feel like I can have a beautiful garden without having to constantly buy deer repellents and such. It's all about planting the right plants and shrubs. What I have now, if nibbled a little in the winter when food is scarce, still comes back nice in the summer.

I have added another update to my blog that lists my favorite perennials that stood up to the deer, drought and winter. These perennials are starting to emerge here in zone 7, so I added information and photos (when in bloom last year).
