A question about Ivy

Has anybody tried using Ivy, but not actually pressing it, just allowing it to airdry on a backing, with glue? I'm experimenting a little with this----starting with a small picture with ivy as the entire background. Found out quickly, if you're doing a larger picture, it will take time. After this glue dries for a few days, I'll add an interesting pressed flower in the middle.

What type of ivy--Hedera helix, (English Ivy) is very easy to press. Just like pressing a tree leaf. Senecio milkanioides, (German Ivy) and Plectranthus coleoides 'Variegata', (Swedish Ivy) may be a different story! I would hate to see you go through all the trouble to glue a project and have it shrink or curl or discolor, remember there is moisture involved and your backing material is absorbing not only the leaf moisture but the glue as well. My ivy is dark green and overwinter heres in KY. I just checked that ivy that I glued on to paper and it looks the same. Time will tell. LOL I did one Ivy creation with 4 ivy leaves and put a jewel-type stone in the middle. Looks nice. We shall see if it turns too much or curls.
