About three or four years ago, I went to a grafting workshop and attempted to graft a couple of plum trees for my smallish yard. The one on which I got help (basically an 80-year-old guy named Ed fixed my bad cut and made it all work) is fine and growing, slowly, as it should. The one I made all by myself failed, and now I have a 10-foot-tall rootstock plum growing in my yard. I don't remember what the rootstock was, and it grew so fast the trunk actually subsumed the little aluminum tag with the info. It's blooming nicely at the moment. Anyone familiar enough with plum rootstocks to tell me if I'm ever likely to see a little edible fruit? I don't have a lot of room for tall, rangy trees that don't produce, and I do have a few young benchgraft apples that I've been eying for the spot (the others will get espaliered against the house and garage). Not to mention I'm flirting with the idea of a (dwarf) peach.

Any insights on whether it should stay or go?
