I have Pawpaw seeds from two sources geographically far apart. You need two different trees to get good pollination. I could send ten seeds of one and five of the other.

I have blackberries going here, though yours sound interesting. But I definitely would like to get gooseberry and currant cuttings. Does that sound like a trade?

I also have highbush cranberry seeds now and cuttings in the spring if you'd like a truly beautiful bush that makes tasty berries.

I also have PawPaw seeds from the sunflower cultivar.

I have some wild pawpaw seeds from TN. I've never been able to get them to sprout. Tried a few one way, then a few with a different approach, nothing works for me.
I'm wondering if, like some exotics, they need to be frozen, or exposed to fire, or passed thru the digestive tract of some beast in order to sprout.
How do you folks grow them from seed?

Wyomn, providing your seeds are good,fresh and not dried out just put them in the ground now. They will be up in the spring. They need the cold months before they will sprout.

I had about 50 % success rate germinating wild paw paw seeds by cold stratifying them in my refrigerator (not freezer). After eating the fruit and washing off the seeds & soaking them for 1/2 day in water I packed zip lock bags with moist peat moss and 10-20 seeds per bag. After 8 weeks I removed from the fridge & put them some of them in a warm sunny spot like a window sill and others I put on top of the refrigerator. I have to admit that I was even surprised by the success rate. Good luck -
