I have no lotus at present, but have heard that these can be grown in a large muddy pot, unlike water lilies that need more space and surface area. Is this one that might do well in a three-foot-diameter tub set in the ground and filled with manure and mud to 6" below the rim, with four inches of water above that? if so, or if you have spares of something that WOULD work under these conditions, I'd love to swap for a piece of variegated iris pseudacorus, some iris tectorum (white or blue-flowered form), walking iris (neomarica gracilis), or something else off my trade list.
