I'm Back!!!!

Hello Everyone,

I'm back from the land of politics and so excited to be here again. Some of you know I was running as a Green Party candidate in the Jan. 23 election. There were some unexpected challenges in the campaign one with lack of local organization (which left me with no materials to distribute until very late in the campaign) and the other concerning two abcessed teeth but I managed to come in fourth of six candidates and at least maintain the Greens national average. I've been jealously reading all the postings about indoor and outdoor seeding so will go back over to the forum and post there. This is the real grassroots. I'm going to be so glad to get my nose back into catalogues and design books as I have a couple of jobs to get finished before the garden season (outdoors) begins in earnest.

Nice to see you back, Kate. I watched your results on election night and you did very well against very stiff competition. BTW, I live in Kate's riding.

Thanks everyone,

Hey Shauna, what's this about you being in the ranks of the unemployed again? Hoping this is a good thing. I'm still working 2 days a week shuffling papers at a building company. Great for spending money on frills for my girls and hopefully will support my gardening habit. The projects I'm working on are garden renovation designs for two friends and since I last posted got a garden consultation and possible design project as a result of running in the election???!!! Going to keep it pretty low key this year too as I'm a bit behind in my self education program because of the campaign and of course last year I lost because of helping out my Dad who was sick. Most important thing for me is maintaining a balance in my life and I don't want to come to a point that what I do is just a job. If I don't love it it's not worth doing and right now I love what I'm able to do for people.
