Good luck on Thursday Shauna! Hopefully everything will go perfectly, and just think, you'll have lots of time for it to heal up by summer.

Hey Shauna, here's to you coming home pain-free in a few days! It will be such a relief for you. I'll be sending good thoughts west tomorrow! :)

P.S. We'd better find out what kind of hospital Sharon works in and resolve to NEVER go there!!! LOL

Gee, thanks everyone, for all of the good wishes. I'm just on my way to bed because I have to be at the hospital for 6 AM. Surgery at 7:30 mountain time.
I've got 2 goals for the outcome - pain free, at least until the end of this summer, and I want to be able to bend my knee more than 90 degrees and straighten it properly. Hopefully, this one will bump up my knee replacement by a few years, too.

I'll let you know how I fare as soon as I become coherent. Sharon, I'm really hoping that the doc doesn't have to visit that website. But, i guess I won't be able to find out, thanks to the anesthetist. lol

Oh...I hope it all went well Shauna! A friend of ours had both his knees done, a year apart, and he now walks 5 miles a day, (and does lots of gardening!!) all pain free, he says they're better than new. Hope it goes as well for you!

I'm baaaaccckkk. I think all of your thoughts and good wishes helped alot and for that I'm really thankful. All seems to be fairly well. I was home by 11:00 AM and slept for most of the day. I was managing to get around pretty well, even sometimes without my cane. Today, I can bend it almost 90 degrees and I think the straightening will come a bit better as the days progress. For the first time in 2 1/2 years, I do not have a nagging cramp in my calf so the foreshortening of the muscle seems to have been relieved. That in itself is wonderful. And the pain seems to be mostly regular pre-op stuff, but time will tell yet on whether the rotten knee pain is gone. It seems better, but a bit early to tell yet. I'm managing on extra strength Excedrin and just a couple of the narcotic pain killers, so far. So all seems well.

However, I do have to stay lying down for quite a bit of the day yet. I've got some really bad tingling in my foot. So, it's lots of RICE (rest, ice, compression and elevation) for me for the weekend, anyway. Probably won't be on the computer too much. But, I should be back in good form by next week.

    So far, so good.

I was going to add that maybe the ol' sawbones actually looked on the internet this time and did it right. LOL. Actually, he's a really nice guy and very good. But, he just doesn't know what went wrong last time and, I think, kept hoping that it would resolve itself.

Glad to hear that things went well Shauna. Enjoy being a lady of leisure for awhile!

I'm so glad you're feeling fine, Shauna. Keep up with the RICE (have a bowl for me too, okay?) and you'll be dancing in no time! :)

I'm glad to hear it all went well, Shauna. Will you be going for physical therapy after it heals up?

    OMG, that was fast!
    Was it a drive-thru surgery!

Get well soon Shauna; you'll be doing cart-wheels before you know it!

    lUv yaH!
