WANTED: hosta trade

Is there anyone interested in a hosta trade? I would be willing to host it. Let me know if you are interested and whether you want specific trades or a secret swap.

Hi Anne I am interested ..dont much care if it a secret swap or specific trades . I am just interested in swapping LOL ! Too bad you didnt attend the swap meet at Springbank . We had at least one swapper from your neck of the woods.

Hi you two, having traded with both of you I'm game to do it again, BUT, let's make a stipulation that whatever you're sending will be something you've had in your yard for at least 3 years to reduce the chance of shipping something that's virus infected.

    Wahddayasay?

HI Ann. How did you make out splitting the small hoata from the Chatham meeting?
Hope to see you at the picnic on the 26.
    Cheers

Yes. But I'm not interested in a secret swap. I like to know what I'm trading for.

I agree with you ninamarie. Specific trades work well when it is a small group like this - so let us put what we have and what we have that is large enough to trade as well as what we are looking for on our trade list and then we can contact each other and each get something that we want. I hope that will work with Pieter and Heather too

Should we send our lists to you?
I assume this is for sending early fall?

Ok, I have a question please. I have a number of daylilies that I do know the names of but many many more that I dont ( lost tags) . Could I send an email with pics of these daylilies (would anyone be interested ?) or no ?

Ninamarie, how's about putting up a have and wanted list? Mine's here. I have traded with both Anne and Heather, and because of the distance/cost involved of shipping I suggest a minimum of 5 plants per trade with me to help keep the cost per plant down, and shipping should be done on a Monday, so that it can be at the other end of the country by week's end when shipped Expresspost.

When a call is made for a potential trade it is generally understood for that trade to happen within a relatively short time frame. Personally, I prefer my Hosta trades to be done by the end of July, so that they get a chance to put down some good roots before they settle down for the winter.

    Hi pietertje
The numbers works for me, but the timing doesn't. I'm away during the month of July and frantically busy until then.
If anyone can, or is willing to hold off till then, I'm in. If not, later. I will put my trade list up, though.

I've read the notes that you have all made and I think that seeing as there are just the four of us, we should list what we have, what we are looking for and make arrangement s for trades as we see what we are looking for. Timing can be arranged on an as -ready basis between each of us and we will get what we are looking for, rather than the "secret" trade - it will be much more satisfactory for all.
SO let's first update our have and wanted lists, posting when they are ready, and then go ahead and do our trading.
DO you think that will work? Nina has time constraints and this will take the pressure off her as she gets ready to fly the coop. And we can look at the lists, when they are updated and make our choices.

My lists are uptodate, see the listings in the earlier posting. I'm not at all adverse to trading with more than one person, providing we can find a suitable mix of at least 5 plants. And Heather, post pictures of your NOIDs, if nothing else we might come close to identifying them...

just a thought but we all realize that if the government doesnt legislate the posties back to work it may be quite a while before we can trade . I have a daylily trade on hold right now due to the strike ( and now the daylilies have sent out scapes so have to wait till the blooms are gone ) ....Very disappointing as both the other trader and I were excited to have somethings we both wanted.
