Your Favourite Soda or Beverage?

I've been drinking Coke Zero since it came out, but I found a new soda that I really like better, its called Diet Rite Cola, 0 calories, 0 carbs, 0 caffeine, 0 sodium and best of all, its made out of Splenda! I love it!

What's yours?

I love grape soda :0) Since I was a kid. I can't handle diet drinks, there's something wrong with me that sugar substitutes taste like chewing an Aspirin. Splenda is better than Aspartame (sp?) but I can still taste it. Poor me! :0(

Since you mentioned beverage... LOL... Smirnoff's new grape cooler is great!

I also like Red Bull but it's soooo expensive!

I drink carbonated water, orange or lime flavour. No sweetners or anything is added. 0 everything. LOL!

    Favourite soda? Sprite.

Besides soda? Coolers -- pretty much any, but especially this raspberry one we had last summer. Speaking of coolers... Hmmmm .... time for a "Cooler Run" again! LOL

My SIL & BIL just got back from Mexico on Saturday and they brought back some "ta-kill-ya" (tequila) that was really nice! Apparently its a "sipping tequila" that you can only buy in Mexico and it was coffee flavoured -- smelled like Kahlua. VERY good! :)

I'm not a pop drinker at all. Mostly, i drink coffee in the morning, sometimes tea in the afternoon, and water the rest of the day. Occasionally milk, but it sometimes bothers my stomach so i have to be careful. Other than that, i make "sun tea" in the summer and go through a lot of that.

Diet Pepsi and since I went to Mexico where it all have lime I love the Diet Pepsi with Lime.

Now for "other" drinks I really like ok LOVE the Creamcicle (SP) drink. Tastes just like the ice cream bars. My son has gotten into mixing drinks so we have tried various ones since last summer. Acutally I should say we do this in the summer months.. Invite the neighbors over and have a BBQ and have fun. Quiet fun but fun.. Truely it's quiet. LOL

I'm typically a water person, but come summer an iced cappicino is a great treat.

Echoes, mmmmm, creamsicles are really good too! Summertime is cocktail time isn't it? ;^) Coolers(love the vodka ones!) are great to have when sitting by the campfire too.

I drink a lot of water and milk, sometimes tea or coffee.

Not big on pop, unless it's a mix...Love a paralizer (vodka, kahlua, coke, and milk)...and I have a really good receipe for homemade kahlua. And coolers...mmmm...rum and coke (with lime), screwdrivers are also good (I figure they're good for me since they have orange juice) oh...and slimers (vodka, 7up & lime) are good too...oh, and rye & coke tooo...and there's nothing better than a soak in the tub with a glass of chilled wild vines 'wine'...Ok...so I like pretty much anything...and I'm starting to sound like an alch-ey...DH used to be a bouncer (10/12 years ago) and did a bit of bartending too...so he can mix up almost anything...good thing we only actually get into it every once in a while... ;-)
(I'm a cheap drunk...and if I have a couple I get frisky and can't behave...so that makes me the DD when we're out in 'pullic' and the prime instigator when we're at home... ;-)

I drink coffee in the morning and then tea in my thermos all day. Rest of the time I just drink water as I am lactose intolerant and can't drink milk unless I take a pill.

    Cheers Al

Breakfast...milk with a little coffee (from my DH's pot of coffee) and a little chocolate syrup. I make homemade Bailey's and Kahlua for my DH for his coffee. (Anyone need the recipe?)

I like having a glass of ice water on the go all day. The colder the water the better. I hate lukewarm water. Yuck!

I can't drink straight coffee, too bitter and I hate the aftertaste. But I love tea of all kinds (has to have sugar added though). I do not drink any pop unless it is sprite or 7-up in a punch. I love all kinds of coolers, especially in the summer. Already have a few kinds in the house. I can't drink more than a sip of beer unless it is a really hot day and I have been out working in the garden then...a whole beer is perfect...but it has to be 'Coors Light'. I do not like the strong flavored beers.

I make a homemade raspberry iced tea. Anyone interested in the recipe? It is really good in the summer.

Sure, why don't you post those recipes Brenda, they sound great. I'm wondering if the Kahlua and Baileys recipes require a hollow tree stump and a jug with three X's on? LOL

I must always start the day with 2 huge mugs of straight black strong coffee, I also drink lots of water too during the day, probably 5-7L a day. For grown-up beverages I will start with Labatts Light, then watch out, double rye and d/coke! LOL
You will usually find me under the table or on top of the table after 6 or 7 of them ;)

Yes Brenda, lets see that recipe? Sounds delicious!

My favorite soda is coke classic.
I wasnÂt drinking much of it until I wanted the 2L bottles for winter sowing. So now I have an excuse!
At work I mostly drink herbal teas.
I also drink a lot of fruit juices. One of them is the Orange Guava Passion punch.

I did like coffee and black tea but the doctor told me to cut them out.
Sometimes IÂm tempted to do without the doctors instead.

    Okay...

    Raspberry Iced Tea

This is the double strength recipe. When using, dilute with equal parts of water.

    2 quarts of water
    1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups mashed raspberries (or use frozen whole berries)
    5 individual regular tea bags
    1/4 cup lemon juice

Bring all to a boil. Boil for a few minutes long enough to dissolve the raspberries, if you used frozen mashed berries.
If whole berries then mash the berries as it is boiling and once the berries are all mashed then add the tea bags. Turn off the stove. Let mixture steep for an hour or till you remember to come back to the kitchen. Let the whole mixture sit until it is a lot cooler to make it easier to handle when sieving later. So, then once cooled off a little, remove pot from stove, sieve mixture. Refridgerate.
Serve later by adding equal amounts of water. The original recipe calls for 4 quarts of water and I figure why store that much in the fridge when I could just dilute it later instead.

We used this drink last summer when our daughter was married in our yard. Her colors were red and white. The raspberries give this tea a nice red color and it was a very refreshing drink to serve on a 33C day.

    Bailey's

1 can condensed sweetened milk (Eagle brand or no name)
1 small whipping cream (1 cup size)
    1 1/2 cups rye
2 tsp. instant coffee dissolved in 1/2 cup warm water

Mix, enjoy. Be sure to refridgerate 'cause of the cream.

    Kahlua

    1 1/2 cups boiling water
    1/8 c. instant coffee
    2 cups sugar
Bring the above to a boil in a pot on the stove and boil for one minute or two or until syrup.
    Let cool.
Add 1 1/2 cups rye and 2 tsp vanilla.

Mix, enjoy. I refridgerate this also, although I do not think I would need to do so.

Make these recipes yourself and then tell me what you think of the them...

From an old back country trapper's book called Cache Lake Country, published in the 1940's:

    Rasberry Shrub
    2.5 quarts rasberries
    1 quart cider vinegar
    .5 lbs. sugar (1 pint)

Crush rasberries, drop in vinegar, stir occasionally - 4 days.
Strain, boil 15 minutes with sugar.
    Put in corked, sterilized bottle.
1 Tablespoon per glass of water. Add more sugar if desired.

Very refreshing on a hot day.

I'm a tea drinker. I drink tons of homemade iced tea in the summer, and herbal or decaf tea at work, and milk at meals. For adult beverages, I usually drink white wine or beer.

Wow I'm feeling left out here- coffee all the time, preferably flavored cinnamon or mint, then tea-hot chai, cold plain sun tea (sugar/lemon/honey in some assortment of course), and PEPSI!

I don't drink a whole lot of water, except when I add berry flavor in the heat of summer. I also really don't like milk- I was spoiled with raw milk as a kid and nothing tastes right anymore!

Adult- well pepsi and rum! no flavor no ice (if I wanted water, id order it!) Occasional Hot Damn (cinnamon schnapps) rather than rum.

OK, im confused? Why do some of you drink alcohol with diet soda? I never can understand that? I see alot of that, but I don't get it!

Regular soda has sugar (carbs) and alot of calories ;)

Also, I have found that if I drink *ahem* too much of the really sugary mixed drinks, I get the worst hangover in the world. Even if I wasn't that drunk. I prefer to drink alcohol with fruit juice now because it has less sugar than soda.

I know what you mean though Vrie, there are a lot of people who don't know alcohol counts for calories. But if you're gonna drink it anyway, might as well cut your losses.

Sharon, that tea sounds good! My mom is always drinking the Celestial Seasonings "Bengal Spice" tea. It drives me nuts because it smells like spice cake but doesn't taste like it! >:0(

My theory is if you're going to "indulge," don't stint!

Besides, I can't tolerate the taste of most diet anyway, so....
