Your gardens will be more spectacular than ever come the beginning of July! :)

Are you going anywhere special or just staying at home, sleeping in, weeding, etc?

You know, you're just going to get bored with ALL that time off.........I think you should come over and help me weed and dig a new bed ;^)

Laurie, I am sure that if Sharon came to the Brandon area we could easily keep her busy for her whole month off. She could weed at your place for a week, my place for a week, Marg's place for a week. And of course, she needs a day or so before to get here and a day or so after to get home. Yah, I think we could work something out from our end.

What do you think Sharon...you are really quiet. Not saying anything...

If I had a month's holidays I would sleep the first two days - maybe that's where Sharon is :0)

Sharon, don't go to Brandon, they will make you work. Come visit me and we will drink blender drinks and watch my hot neighbour build things in his yard. HAHAHA

Sleep in, no way I have so much work to do....I just came in for a break, been up and working in the garden since 7am this morning! Sorry Brenda, Laurie and Margaret, I have enough weeding to do at my own garden ;)
On the other hand, bribes with all the free plants I want, I may consider ;)

Oh boy Gil, blender drinks and hot neighbor thatÂs sounds like fun!!!!! But how are we going to see him with your new tall fence in the way?

For my vacation IÂm spending most of it in my garden, on the 17th, DH and I are going to the lake for the weekend and thatÂs about it.

Talk to you all later, gotta go plant the Rudbeckia's now ;)

Oh don't worry Sharon, the fence at that side is strategically chain-link. LOL.

    Have a fun holiday!

Nothing better than taking vacation to garden - I've been off since mid-May, and have to go back to work Monday :(

We just got back from 5 days at Duck Mountain Prov Park on the Man/Sask border - tried out the new tent trailer (what a dream compared to tenting), listened to the loons and did a lot of hiking and birding. Oh yeah, saw a black bear!!! Well, the hind end of him anyway, and if he looked back he'd have seen the hind end of me, too! I'm sure a bear sighting is old hat to many of you, but it was my first.

Anyway, that gave my bones and muscles a good rest from the marathon gardening I was doing before leaving.

    Have a great vacation, Sharon.

Pudge, we did some camping last summer in the Duck Mountains. Stayed at Blue Lake campground, and it was wonderful! Beautiful scenery and the canoeing was spectacular(incredibly clear, deep water!).
Didn't see any bears, but I did see a skunk in the site next to us.....yikes!

Duck Mountain is awesome. We try to go there once a summer for the golfing. Excellent course.

Laurie, you don't have to go all the way to the Duck Mountains to see a skunk...just come on over to my place. Friday morning last week the dog was barking beside our bedroom window. We looked out, saw a skunk walking/prancing with his head up in the air, tail up in the air and the dog a few feet in front of it barking at it. Called the dog and within seconds, the skunk took off into the bush next to the house where it sprayed in there somewhere (thank goodness missed spraying our dog). They sure can make a stink! (They also love fresh strawberries...my strawberry patch is almost totally white with blossoms...oh boy...)

So thats where you've been, how time flies Pudge, back to work for you on Monday, eeks!....can you not tell work that you got attacked by the bear during the night in which the new tent trailer fell on top of you while you were getting attacked? ;)

LOL, the thought crossed my mind, Sharon. But I can't complain too loudly about going back to work - it's a part-time job, Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 9 to 3. And those days/hours are very flexible which I take advantage of in the summer, or whenever else I need to switch days around. But after spending today in the garden (it was a great day) the thought of sitting in an office tomorrow just doesn't cut it. Oh well...

I know the feeling. Once the weather gets nice, I try to adjust my mindset, so that Monday-Friday are just a brief interruption in the start of summer gardening. Working at a school has its good points though - only 4 weeks left till my (almost) 2 months of freedom!
