Isn't it nice to get together like that? Beautiful poppies too!

Actually my mil spent the night in Smithers a couple of days ago. She's on a bus tour that went up to Alaska and now they're heading back this way and arrive home on wednesday.

Wow !! What do you feed your poppies ? I can get them to grow but to yours they look like minatures...

ItÂs the first year this plant/variety has bloomed for me. I think that I am going to have to do some homework on this one as it is head and shoulders above the others I have. I suspect that I got this one from a perennial plant sale/fundraiser. If so it was only labeled Blue Poppy.

Yes it was good to see a fellow GWebber off line and to put a face to a name.

Laurie youÂll have to ask your MIL about her trip. The tourist outfits here are claiming that they have lost business since the sinking of a ferry.

It's obvious Barbara really likes that poppy! Ian, have you checked your garden since she left?? :> My blue poppy had babies! There are three little ones around it now. Do you notice a slight but very nice scent to yours?

I offered Barbara seedlings from the ones that set seed last year.
She said that she thought that they wouldnÂt survive their trip.
She did however suggest that she would be hitting me up for some seed when ripe.

Marcia I ran out and checked for fragrance and the scent reminds me of anise seed.

Mine have a very light sweet fragrance. Maybe they're not quite the same flower, then. Mine are meconopsis grandis, but i know there are many other varieties of blue poppies. Whatever, they're gorgeous and VERY impressive - all that and mine makes me smile every time i see it! :)
