Oh, how wonderful. I was wondering if they had arrived yet.

My Katja had puppies - 9 of them. Of course, she was from the Humane Society, and we didn't know she was pregnant, let alone who the daddy was. No matter, they were beautiful pups and I really, really enjoyed the time we had with them. Two were kinda scrawny plus had a tough time competing for food, so I bought milk replacement and fed them extra. The neighbors saved newspapers for us (changed 3X/day) and we salvaged old carpet for the bottom of their area. DH built a pen that had a 2x4 separating the potty area from the carpeted area. Those little puppies figured it out some quick to hop the 2x4 to get their business done.

I think all dogs do better going to new homes at 9 weeks - lots of socialization skills are developed in that time. We held on to ours that long, too. But they do become a handful after about 5 weeks old, that's for sure.

Hope you have a lot of fun with them. Are they all spoken for already?

We have a pair of pomeranians that we hope will breed early next year! I can't wait! Little pups are so wonderful.

Our vet freaked when we got our little girl at 6 weeks- we kind of rescued her though so it was a special situation. She had been untreated for a hurt leg for one week, so we bought her to take her to the vet-it was broken too! The vet eventually understood that, but was very cautious that the poor pup would not get hypoglycemic or cold etc. We got the male at 12 weeks from a breeder. When we do have pups, we will not let them go until at least 10 weeks! That's one thing the vet made sure we knew is that the smaller the dog, the longer they needed momma!

Thanks guys, I just love them to pieces. I wanted to wait one more heat to breed her (she's 1.5 years) but DH let Spuddy out with her whenever I wasn't looking so that was that. LOL.

Pudge, sounds like a good system you built. I haven't thought as far as potty yet. I was a bit panicked about the delivery because it was my first time and Daisy's too and I was reading up constantly in case anything went wrong. I freaked myself out reading all kinds of conflicting information but when the time came it all made sense and everything went fine. I have carpet under the box too, a length of rubber backed industrial mat. On top of that are old blankets and old towels that are changed 3x/day.

They are not specifically spoken for, but I have some people interested. My cousin wants one, and a friend is going to take one for a few days to see if she is allergic. She played with Spud & Daisy all day once and had no problems so she thinks she will be ok. DH wants to keep them all - yeah right DH!!

Vrie, around here lots of people think 6 weeks is plenty. I will definitely be hanging onto these guys for 9 weeks. When you breed your poms you have to keep us posted! I love little poms, they are so sweet. I guess you would have to do a fair bit of clipping/shaving when she gives birth. (Once again I thank my dogs for being short-haired, LOL)

Glad to hear you got your seeds in Gil, how about giving me the lit' red & white Maizie for trade. LOL, just kidding, DH would kill me if I brought home another furry child.

They are soooo sweet, Gil. I love dogs and puppies of all kinds, but DH is not a "dog" person. Therefore, no dogs. Just our 2 cats. Funny, I wasn't a "cat" person but somehow we ended up with them. And now, they're my cats.

Congrats on your recent additions. Have fun and enjoy all the cuddles they are sure to bring.

Puppies are so much fun. We went to visit friends of ours near Carberry. Their 2 cockers had puppies. I brought my adult kids along and we played with their 15 puppies. Yes, 15.!!
