I believe you have 'Philadelphia Fleabane' (Erigeron philadelphicus L.)

Marg and I were at a garage sale last week and for a dollar I picked up a brand new 'Wildflowers Across the Prairies' book with color pictures and excellent descriptions of the flowers/weeds. This plant was in there. It is related to the aster.

Thanks, Brenda. My first thought was a fleabane but I only have one that I planted last year and it is a far different variety - Erigeron alpinus, zone 5, I believe. I thought it had died so I pulled the tag out. Lo and behold, it came back. I think this is definitely a wild seed. I'll wait a few more days to see how it looks but I think it will be short lived in my garden.
