William Dam seeds

Soooo... William dam seeds does not seem to have a pay online system in place, or am I just missing it? IF not, which is the best way to go? I dont do cheques. I checked out their site last night because I was seeking Chocolate Morning Glory and Google led me there. Of course I end up with a 'shopping list'!LOL They have certain seeds I have been wanting and at a very good price too. (NO chrysanthemum-Coconut Ice tho. Oh well)They are the first one I have seen outside Johnnys Selected Seeds in the States to have DIVA cucumber. Cha-Ching! And so on...

So let me know the best way of ordering and paying with william dam seeds. Thanks in advance!

I've been ordering from William Dam for a few years. The first couple of years I phoned in my order & gave them my credit card info, etc over the phone. The past couple of years I emailed the order including credit card info. From their home page choose the 'sales conditions' link on the side, it gives you all you need to know there.

Excellent quality seed - I don't think I've ever been disappointed from William Dam. I'm growing flowers for cutting this year so I went a little overboard with my order. Oh well.

Thanks! I noticed you folks on this forum discuss slightly different calatogues and sources than the other forums, even the other Canadian ones. I guess the Far North aspect rather changes things. What do you kind folks have to say about McFaydens? They are not even on the garden watchdog.

Same here, been ordering from them for years and have never had a problem with William Dam Seeds, they give you a fair amount of seed, price is right and germination is great!

I too usually email my order in and you can or they will phone you for your credit card information when their ready to ship.

McFaydens is affiliated with McKenzie Seeds, IÂve never had any troubles with their seed or bulbs, however IÂve never bought live plants from them, so I canÂt give an opinion on that.

Welcome to the Far North Forum, Triple_b!

thank you! I am not far north, living in the rather sublime region of the Okanagan Valley but being Canadian we still share the same philosophies

Maybe I'm paranoid, but I would never put my credit card number in an email unless it's a secure order form. I would definitely phone in my order.

    nman,
I know what you mean. I will probably do the same.

Has everyone placed their orders with William Dam? If not, I was wondering if I could ask a favour? I want to order one package of seeds but don't want to pay $6.95 shipping. I could send a SASE and payment for the seed if someone wouldn't mind including with their order.

I am placing small orders with Vesey's, JL Hudson and Thompson & Morgan but none of them have the item I want. It is Fountain Grass (Pennisetum setaceaum) - William Dam item #2846.

    Thanks - Susan

Oh Sharon, you are so speedy. Not only did you recommend that seed to me, you now have to order it for me! Thanks so much. Let me know if that can be added to your order - if not, I'm sure I can find another helpful gardener around here :)

I don't mind at all Susan, it may give me an excuse to order some of those Dianthus 'Amazon Neon Duo's' ;)

Triple B, since you asked I have ordered from McFayden many times and their seeds and bulbs are fine. Their live plants are iffy at best. I have had several disappointments and just avoid their live plants now. The other thing I hate about them and it's not their fault, is that I have to pay PST being in the same province as them. Grrr.

I may order from them sometime. I already placed an order with William Dam as they had a few things I have been looking for. And some things I WASN'T looking for...till I saw them in the catalogue haha.
