Fig limb blight?

Hello and I am so grateful there is a fig forum! I am a fig fanantic.

I just planted a couple bare root fig trees that were already 6' tall. Soon after, the trunk and limbs from about halfway down, up to the top, have turned kind of orange and gotten limp and hollow, like I can squeeze them with my fingers. I cut some of it off but it continues to spread. I also got other fruit trees at the time that aren't having this problem, just the 2 figgies.

Does this sound like limb blight? What should I do, a severe pruning?

Thanks for your support.

Love,

Uma
