It hasn't hit us yet(Sudbury).But we've been told to brace ourselves for late Thurs. and Fri. We're suppose to receive around 15cm. I'm not looking forward to it but hopefully this will be the last storm of the season.

So far I'd say "lamb" for us here. We are getting flurries right now but that's about it. Forcast is "OK" too. Now I really hope it doesn't go out like a lion!

We're just getting the edge of your storm north of Winnipeg, Laurie. We have had a LOT of snow in the past two weeks. But it's warm, and I don't mind the snow, because... it's days are numbered! hahaha! And yes we need the moisture too.

We're getting the snow, too, but it's not windy nor very cold. I'd say about 5" has fallen, and we got about 6-8" last Friday. There's an awful lot of snow in these parts - snowmobilers heaven. They're predicting plus temps for the weekend, I sure hope that proves true.

Here we've been getting big fat fluffy flakes for about 4 days - not a lot, just steady, and it's chilly for this time of year - low of -18 last night. Since it's not lion or lamb, does that mean the end of the month will be halfway between too?

Well I am south of you all, just north of Grand Forks,ND, and seem to live in a little pocket. We never get as much rain, or snow here as they do even 5 miles south or north of us! We have had about 3" of snow, overnight, more to come later today (maybe)!

Connie, now that you've recorded what the weather was for you on this day in the thread, we'll have to bring this thread back up at the end of the month to see how well this prediction goes, and see if the weather ends up halfway for you or not.

From the looks of the forecast, southern Ontario is going to be in for a good storm too. Apparently for southern Manitoba again, we have another low coming in later today and is supposed to dump 4"-6". Aaaahhh......I don't know if I can handle another day off from school!!LOL

Weatherwise, lamb. It's suppose to reach +4°C by the weekend. We must of just got the beginnings of your snow storm last evening, big fluffy flakes of snow but all is well now.

Myself, lion, I feel like I got hit with a Mac truck with this sudden cold!

Well, we're being stalked by a lion up here! Stormed all morning with bad wind chill. The snow isn't piling up though. The forcast is for flurries and cloudy days with lows of -11 to - 18 (its been like this forever it seems!). The sun is trying to pop out but I don't think it will survive for long.

I would say it is a lamb. Warm, but snowing/raining. The roads are terrible though. Does it make it part lion?

Half and half for us. It was sunny and relatively mild but with high winds.

The forecast for the rest of the year looks okay for some of us, not so good for others. They were saying we'd get a hot and dry summer but now it looks like hot and wet. Click on "Seasonal Forecasts" on the left of the page.

Were sort of lionish!! Lows of -20 and highs of -8 to -10, with flurries for the last week or so. Now they are talking of highs of +11 for Saturday on one radio station while another one says to expect flurries or freezing rain with a high of +2. I guess we will get what we get.LOL

Yesterday, a lamb. Today, a lion! What a difference a day makes.

Currently it's -13 with a windchill of -24 and the wind is clipping along at a nice 35-40.....sigh...

They are calling for 0 on Sunday.......we can only hope!!

Plus 12c Saturday and Sunday here in the Calgary area. Be careful, however, what you wish for. One reason Winnipeg and Regina, etc. have such wonderful gardens and great trees is the plants don't go through the teeter-totter freeze-thaw cycle.

Lows of -40, highs of -10 here in Fairbanks. If this f**** lion doesn't get his butt out of here soon, I'm going to go crazy. It's March, for crying out loud. March. It is not supposed to be this cold.

It hasn't got above -20 C today although yesterday it was saying we'd get above O...go figure.

We're getting kinda cranky around here too, Emily, (although its not as cold as you...knocking on all the wood I can find!)its just cold and dreary with flurries everyday. Its been that way for weeks. Now the forcast is saying we might get above 0 by Tuesday. We'll see...I think sometimes the forcasters just tease us like that to keep us from getting too down and out about the weather!

Marcia, the first forcast was close to being right. We hit a high Saturday of about +10. With lots of sun all day. It was absolutely beautiful out. We spent the day in Edmonton and all we saw all day was water puddles everywhere. But it is only for 1 day as it is supposed to cool off again tomorrow. Oh well the break was nice.

The temperatures here have been relatively mild, but it's been windy so that cools it down a lot. Boy, i wouldn't mind a day or three above 0! Glad you got to enjoy it, Al. :)

Well, five days ago the long term forecast said +4 for Sunday. Now that Sunday's here they are saying -4 falling to -13 today and then lows of -25 tonight.

But they are dangling a +8C carrot in front of our noses for next Thursday. We'll see.

My thinking is let Mother nature get all the cold weather out of her system so we can at least enjoy a normal spring.

Though isn't this the time of year where we can really experience damage to conifers? (strong sun reflecting off snow and drying out conifers and conifers unable to take up water due to below freezing temperatures.)

What a weather flip flop ... yesterday was a beautiful very mild sunny day in most parts of Alberta, definitely lots of melting was going on! BUT, today it's back to the deep freeze in central and northern regions!

It was still warm here today in the center of B.C. a few hours of thawing and the snow has gone from being so hard you could walk all over on it and not sink in, to getting the 4 wheeler stuck today..lol..savona

Last week was sunny and mild (above zero during the day), I was having a serious attack of spring fever. Since Thursday, March 1st was gorgeous, I suppose we were "in like a lamb". Then, the snowstorm (and snow day!) on Friday, and now here we are again, back in the deep freeze just in time for March break - -22 to -24 at night (windchills -38 to -43) and -15 highs during the day. On the news the other night, some guy put up a big neon sign saying "Groundhogs lie" - I guess everyone is pretty fed up with the winter (he must have been a gardener!)
