Just returned from Tampa. Kurt flew to his sister's to see his Dad. We left and Wed. I cried when I saw Kurt. He is the image of a person at death's door. He was not strong enough to fly home yesterday and he is now in the hospital. He has an infection iside his abdomen that started at his G tube site. The doctor is not sure if he is strong enough to fit the infection. We had to come home due to work obligations and not having sufficient clothing etc. It does not look like he will make it to Christmas. Thanks for the prayers. Linda

Just spoke with Linda, Kurt has passed tonight. She says she feels comforted knowing "he is in a better place" I promised to let you all know and to thank everyone for your prayers and kind thoughts.

Linda, my deepest condolences.

Thans, Kat for posting the news for me. It has been a rough two weeks for me. Learning about my goddaughter and now learning that the chemo could kill her or badly damage her organs, that her chances of surviving for five years are less than 45 percent, that she will more than likely develop other cancers, etc has me on edge and then learning that it may be an inherited DNA mutation and that her brother and 3 year old sister may develop the cancer. Then Kurt passing and Sunday and then learning that one of the cousins I grew up with died in November and no one bothered to inform me has my head swimming and my heart breaking.

I am very aware that Kurt has gone on to a better place and I know that for a fact. He was in such pain and weighed 110 pounds at death on a 6'1" frame. He is so much better off. Jessica is also a child of God and will be in his hands throughout her ordeal. My cousin Alvin is a question that will mot be anwsered until I get to heaven. Things have to get better.

We will be flying out Thursday at 3:35 for the funeral in Charlotte, NC on Friday at 2. Lee stands a chance of throwing a blood clot flying but the doctor said it would be better than driving for 9 hours.

Thanks to each of you for your prayers and well wishes. I wish each of you a Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukuk or whatever. I am wishing a great New Year to each of you with wonderful gardening the new year. I hope my New Year is happier, healthier and full of better things all around. Linda
