I haven't been able to find any of the grow lights that i first got, the kind that you can attach to something. My husband made some stands for them, so i want to keep using them and it would be nice to be able to replace the bulbs as they burn out.

This year, i want to put my shelves in front of the patio door. I read on here (maybe not this forum) about someone who did that, and i thought DUH! Another way to save on electricity!

Yes, this would work, the other day I have seen in the princes auto flier
a little greenhouse on wheels,...this might work nicely to wheel in and out when cold at night,... I hate to heat my little greenhouse with only a few plants.
Looking or buying LED lights now I think it would be better to wait a year or so, these are just in it's infancy stage. There aren't too many around and prices are high.
Here is one not too bad for what I needed, about a foot square with
36 lights at .2 watt each, that's a total of 7,2 watt, about 1/3 of my bulb power consumption.

Maybe,....I checked several links and posted the cheapest I could find.
The first light in your link, [45W] for $99.99 looks like similar to my link for 3 times more money.

I went back to my link and counted the light bulbs,...it doesn't make
sense, I count 225 bulbs but in the specification you see Power (W) 36 x 0.2W
I understood it has 36 bulbs times .2W
It looks like 225 bulbs times .2W = 45Watt...this would makes sense,
dimensions are about the same, a little heavier.

Jeff Lowenfels, the garden writer for the Anchorage newspaper, really likes the Glow Panel LED, which seems pretty similar to the one that you posted. Only it seems to be more expensive too. I haven't shifted away from my cheap-o shop lights with their 40 watt bulbs yet, but I would really like to. I definitely see a spike in my electric bill in March and April when the shop lights are running.

Yea...we should wait a little and keep checking for prices, this one sure
looks the same to me.

I don't think I'd do it. I really don't notice 10 fluorescent bulbs on a timer showing up on my electricity bill (not to mention hydro is dirt cheap here in MB). If I was paying $100 for a light fixture I'd just save the money and buy my plants at a nursery.
