I have one that sure looks a lot like the one you have. I don't know the name of it though, because I got a branch from my aunt's tree and rooted it. Mine is about 6 feet tall now after about 5 years. My aunt's tree, which is quite old, is about 15' tall and just gorgeous when it's covered in pussywillows. I just noticed today that the bees are loving the pussywillows on my tree. Tons of them buzzing around it.

Have you had your tree for very long? Do the pussywillows get about 1.5" long? I just love that the ones on my tree get so huge!

Don't know if you can make out the amount of bees in the last picture, but there had to have been a couple of hundred around/on the tree.

Yes, it sure does look like the same thing!....well, now you have a name for it until someone says different.
Also allot of bees on mine, wild mason I think, but mostly small moth and flies, this one in pic is a larger moth. Some bumbles but have never seen honey bees on them so far. A disappointment actually, my honey bees are bringing in pollen, but I think they go for poplar right now.
My trees, the larger ones are about 10 years old, have taken many cuttings and have planted allot of them. They make nice arrangements....I like to cut them when not fully open, [puffy looking] like in the first pic, this way they dry nicely and stay shape.

They must be the same tree Konrad. Thanks, now I do have a name for mine :) Yours look wonderful around the pond too. Is it a natural pond or man-made?

Well....flowering pretty well over, but the native ones are kicking in and the honey bees love them, bringing in lots of pollen, totally ignoring French willow!
That means, I can do allot more cuttings in the future.

The pond is man made, allot of frogs are spawning right now.

Wow, that's a LOT of frog eggs! I wish some frogs would stay in my pond. We've found a few and released them into the pond, but they never stick around for long. They seem to prefer the slough behind the house. I love those warm, quiet evenings sitting on the deck listening to the frogs croak.........it's so relaxing.
