rain and seed-saving question

hi! i want to do the seed swap, and i currently have a few plants setting seeds, but we have had a lot of rain the last few days with more rain coming all week long. i'm looking out the window at the seed pods on my false lupine which are still green, but are now looking kind of squishy. how does rain affect a plant's ability to set seeds, can the seeds rot on the plants before they are ready to be scavenged? sorry if this is a dumb question, but this is really the first year i've been looking forward to seeds and i'm worried i'll be disappointed!

thanks!
