Hi Nathan. I've used blood meal sprinkled on the ground on top of the soil for bulbs. This has had some success. they don't seem to like the smell of animal blood and bloodmeal is also a fertilizer! Now I live in the country and there are big rabbits. Disneys version of 101 Dalmations only with rabbits! My aussie has lots of fun chasing and catching some. This year they did quite a bit of damage to my roses and fruit trees. I guess I will have to cage more this fall. Marg

Those bad ole bunnies! In my old yard they were terrible. We got cottontails, not jacks like Konrad's pics. I agree with Marcia, what finally got rid of them was a fully fenced yard and my dogs. While they could squeeze through in a couple of places, I saw the dogs surprise them away from an escape route a couple of times. I think they stopped coming around because it was too risky. After that they decimated my neighbour's lilies. He put bloodmeal all over what was left of them, and I think it kept them away.

I trap them. If you see one hare/rabbit, there's another five you don't.

For some reason they've exploded in population in Calgary recently. There's so much jackrabbit roadkill on the roads right now.

so cute but so unwanted in a garden..one year my neighbor turned all her tame rabbits loose..within days my flowerbed by my greenhouse was finished off...savona

I will try the bloodmeal. It at least is a start-I am getting sick of wrapping all of my bulbs in chicken wire. I think it kinda defeats the whole point of having flowers.
