Is this containerized fig good as is for another season?

Just bought a Janice Seedless Kadota. I plan on leaving it in a container, as I have 2 others in ground already. What I'm wondering is if it's a good idea just to leave it as is for another year, is the soil that's there good enough for now? What kind of fertilizer should I feed it now? The tree is showing excellent growth, many leaves sprouting.

How big is the container? If you make few holes in the container and dig-in in the garden soil the roots will love that. As for fertilizer I use slow release fertilizer I think it is 12-4-8.

I use a mix of soil: Farm soil 20%, sphagnum moss 40%, perlite 20%, Humus 20% and make sure the pot has good drainage. I already had numerous fruit on my Figs. I fertilize generously because I have small trees carrying 10 figs. I want to make sure the tree has enough energy to support these fruits. I read some where that I should thing it but I don't have the guts to thin.
