Last year I bought a potted White Genoa fig from a nursery that I'm guessing was a 2 yr old since it had a few figs on it. I put it in a oak half barrel and it seemed quite happy. This winter, on the advice from a book on pruning, I cut it to the ground with the intention of having a multi - stemmed container fig rather than a biggish tree. Well... other figs in the neighborhood are leafing out but I'm not seeing any of my hoped for stems... Did I blow it?
