Best zone 10 fig

Hi, I am new to figs and fig growing. I have never tasted a fig before because I don't have a way to get any but I am interesting in growing some. So, what fig would you recommend for zone 10 in southern California. I was thinking violet de bourdeax as I have read that the flavor is very good and It likes the hot weather. Thanks in advance!
