Well, I potted up a few after cutting them back. What possessed me to keep all those bulbs! There's still another box in the cold room, Lol.

I smile at your comment "what possessed me to keep all those bulbs". It's probably the same thing that affects me every fall when I feel the need to try to bring every plant indoors for the winter. So here I have these scraggly coleus and geraniums on the windowsill all winter growing in drinking cups. I guess I save a bit of money by carrying them over from year to year, but I'm still impulse buying more coleus, geraniums, impatiens, etc.

Shoud I admit I don't get the joke? Is the bulbs sprouting before being planted really bad? I don't know what an Oxalis looks like. Do you have a picture of one?

Sorry, I was being silly when I posted that picture.
The bulbs had sprouted and were growing in the dark, hence the long stems.
It is oxalis tetraphylia or Iron Cross. It does bloom, but mostly in early summer. I grow it for the attractive foliage. The bulbs are tiny and should be potted up before they sprout.

Hee! Hee! That IS funny they were so desperately trying to grow in the dark.

Their foliage is awfully pretty, and my husband was born in Ireland, so maybe I should try to grow some =:)
