I bought a campfire last year at Arbo Flora.

Thanks for the info, both of you. I now have orphaned kittens to feed every 3 hours so I haven't been able to make it into town, but I'll check those out another time.

Awww! Lucky kitties to have you! :) I have a cat kliving in my garage attic again........don't know if she has little ones but I have had them before.

I just received Prairie Dawn and Rugelda roses from T & T today. Maybe they will have a Campfire left for you in a week or so. :)

For those who had a Campfire last year, how did it do over winter please?

I guess Bill Reid is too new for anyone to have had it before this year???

Campfire and Double Knockout, as mentioned in other post , horse pruned Campfire and horse x vole pruned D.K. I dumped soil on them this spring to cover the crowns and they have grown through it. Morden Sunrise is ?

This is good for the Campfire. My Morden Sunrise has gone straight to the trash can.... no sign of life. I just replaced it with a sedum LOL

Unfortunately, 'Morden Sunrise' is much better suited to zone 4 and higher and 'Bill Reid' has been highly black spot diseased ... though, I have hopes for 'Campfire', but it's yet to follow me home.

My campfire had some dieback and the rabbits may have pruned it a bit. I planted it in August and it was only a 1 gallon pot. It is small, but leafing out quite nicely.

Blackspot, eh? The only rose I've ever seen blackspot on in my garden is Soliel D'Or which was completely defoliated by it last year. I wonder how in this day and age, roses manage to get released from major breeding programs with disease problems. :/

Northspruce, 'Bill Reid' may escape black spot in your garden, it always depends upon the bs strain(s) that exists in one's yard. I say try it, it "might" be a winner for you and you can always report back.
