Cut the leaves about 2 inches above the ground (before it goes to seed) instead of picking them. :)

Every three weeks throughout the summer I plant spinach, lettuce and radishes to keep a constant fresh supply, oh and also a couple sowings of dill. Most of my friends do not bother with successive plantings or just don't get around to it, I wouldn't go without doing so.

The peas I had sown three weeks ago are now about 2 inches high, today I had put in another row. I use treated seeds, otherwise the peas tend to germinate poorly due to rot, not that I like having to use chemically treated seeds.

I've had trouble with pea germination too. This year i planted them around blocks of seeded areas in the raised bed and they're all coming up! Amazing!

Thanks for the replies :)

My spinach usually bolts too...you can plant alternatives like chard.

Does anyone use inoculant when planting peas? I have in the past and they've done well. If you have problems with peas, you can try presprouting in a ziploc bag with a moist paper towel, or soak them a few hours prior to planting.
