Patterson Pride plum

I have a Pembina already, but I've been thinking about getting a Patterson Pride plum: I love weeping everything(hence my name!) and in particular I'm interested because it is supposed to have a less sour skin than Pembina.

I'm a little concerned about when its fruit ripens. I'm reading mid September. I live on a farm, so it may be even later for me, as my trees usually bud out later than those in the city. Am I only going to be able to get the fruit to ripen some years? I live near Saskatoon, SK...anyone in zone 2b have this tree and have good success with it? I don't like tinkering around with trees and fruit that only "sort of" grow here.

Mild spring has pushed it ahead, even set fruit at the late frost of about minus 7C after flowering. Picked yesterday, the earliest so far.

The weeping form doesn't allow it to grow very tall, this one about 5 foot tall.

Here in town zone 3 has just barely ripened for me before the freeze up.

Curious, how big will the PP plum grow? 15ft in height or larger?

How much did that netting cost Konrad ?

Not sure anymore, think it was reasonable, bought it a couple of years back to cover the kale in the veggie garden against the cabbage moth/butterfly getting in and laying eggs, worked perfect because of the small holes, [all netting should be like this] and easy to put on without snaring branches, no temptation with birds then!! But the moose tore it apart a bit when getting at the kale.

My MOST wanted to use netting and haven't seen anymore since, got it from Apache seeds.
