It would be extremely helpful if you post an image.
First suspect is too much Nitrogen.
Need a picture to confirm this as I had the same problem and now my tree is between deficiency and being normal. whenever I see leaves turning yellow or green veins I sprinkle few Nitrogen pellets and that's it.

On any new growth you should count 5 or 6 leaves then pinch the tip. This will encourage fruiting and branching.

I have the weird too green fig tree which has fruits that stop developing and fall. This is its last year haha!
