Doris, I'm just guessing but could it be Parnassia palustris Northern Grass of Parnassus, it looks like it very much so in my Alberta Wildflower book, however it says it blooms in July?

The flowers sure look like it, but the foliage doesn't. I thought maybe a sport of Blue Eyed grass, but that doesn't look right either.

It's a Chinese garlic chive.
We grow them too for about 20 years now, they will come back every year. Common amongst the Chinese.

I agree with Konrad. I planted some two years ago. It's not invasive and comes back every year. If I cut it, it smells alot like garlic.

Thanks for all the guesses. I had these photos on a few other forums, just to get as much input as possible. It's finally been identified as an Arenaria--probably A. procera.

Once someone came up with the genus, my friend remembered that she received Arenaria seeds through an exchange, although the species name was different (and incorrect, as it turns out).

The detective work was quite fun. She has another mystery plant that she'll be needing help with, once it blooms. Stay tuned...we'll be picking your brains, again, in the near future!
