I went to the "basics" site and got a surprise. Dad holding baby right behind a big old "Rototiller". I bought one of those things used some 30 years ago. Way too much machine for my little yard at the time, but it was an impressive machine. I remember that I put a new set of tires on it--the cost was $8 each. English-made as I recall with an enormous single-cylinder engine that did not rev up very high.

Thanks for the reassurance, guys. I'll let the little trees carry enough figs to let me know what they are. They are in big pots with good growing medium so should keep right on growing.

Yes, that Rototiller was a big, honkin' tank. My dad bought it just after I was born, and he plowed a lot of dirt with it. He sold it to a fellow in Oregon about 34 years ago. Never saw another one like it before or since.
