fig trees

I have a fig tree growing in my yard that looks healthy with plenty of green leaves but no figs. I planted it about two years ago. My question is: when do figs start forming on the tree and at what location on the branch do they appear? Thanks for your help.

For my zone(6) the figs start growing now at the joint of the leaf with the stem.It should be first as large as a rise seed.
Some people in warmer climates have fully grown figs by now.

Thanks for your response herman2 I will look with great anticipation though something tells me I should have been seeing them by now. I live in central Jersey and am not sure of the ag.zone. Thanks again. Ferd8
