Yes, you can fertilze with a 3-1-2 fertilzer. I prefer thje slow release ferlizer like dynamite.

I'm puzzled about this 3-1-2 fertilizer. I've been told to use a balanced fertilizer like a straight 8, but never use a fertilizer that's higher in nitrogen than the other two nutrients. My trees are in-ground and the soil is clay.

They are Celeste trees, I think. Don't know for sure, but they are the common fig down here. Small, closed eye, delicious, except my trees are dropping all their figs.

It's been hot and dry for the past few weeks and the trees were loaded. Even watering doesn't help. I'm new and while I'm here, how do I start a thread about that?

For my container figs, I used 13-13-13 slow release "Dynamite" brand with micronutrients. It's sold for fruit, flowers and vegetables.
