Good Job Keith,I am interested to see if you aquire some cuttings from this tree.
I do have your Lindhurst Wht and am very pleased with it.

Hopefully IÂll get my cutting in Nov. His wife said the first figs should be coming 3-4 weeks.

Speaking of LW, passed by the Mama couple days ago, everything above ground is gone.

Keith,

My LW is finally on it's way after struggling, even in doors for a year, including winter. This one just didn't want to thrive vfor the longest time.

Jon, hope it does better for you this year, my lwÂs are usually quick growers. Your rev pan, vista and black m are all doing good and I expect some figs this year.

Everything is gone

That's sad to read, but really underscores the importance of collecting all these different varieties and then sharing them with others. Who knows, maybe that would have been the last of that variety if you hadn't collected it just in time.

Does that mean 'uncle' Vin is gone? That would be sad
indeed! On the other hand, his GOOD fig is flourishing.
I, for one, shared it with at least 6 other fignuts...

I donÂt really know what happened to "Uncle Vic", I have an email for a son in law but he never replies. Tree wasnÂt covered this winter had lots of damage. Somebody pruned it 2-3 weeks ago and then I no longer could see it from the road. Went and took a peek over the fence and I see nothing. Looks like the trunk was removed, ground was all crumbly, no weeds, raked neat. Vic always had a huge garden, tons of plum tomatoes, squash, all the Italian stuff. Nothing but weeds now. At least the grapes are doing well. I guess eventually all our gardens will look similar.
