Sharon, I'm definately having that with the Nasturtiums 'Dwarf Double Cherry'. I don't have the Candy Stripe Zinnia this year, but yeah loads of other zinnias! So far everything else is what it's supposed to be.

I should send an email too! I'm OK with the orange but I really wanted the Cherry one because it's my favourite colour.

I got mixed Delphiniums when I ordered a specific name (Excalibur I think), and four years ago I ordered Cherry Blossom Delphs from a completely different place and they turned out pale blue. Not that bothered really, I didn't complain.

Sharon, maybe the parent of your zinnias was having an affair with a marigold? ;0)

Gotta say that I am very impressed with their quick response! For quality control, etc, I'm sure they would rather hear from people so they can try and correct the problem.

Thankfully my orange nasturtiums ended up in the same container with other plants that turned out to be orange too (totally other seed company) so it worked out fine this time! LOL

Gil, my Cherry Blossom delph's ended up a very unattractive, pale pink-white - almost beige. They are uggglly! And they also are very prone to mildew, which my others aren't.

Does anyone have a "real" 'Cherry Blossom' delph so that we can see what it actually is supposed to look like?

My Cherry Blossom delphs are also blue - but more of a sky blue, the same colour as blue flax. It's also really tall, probably close to 7' this year. I think they were originally Mackenzie seeds.

My purple ranunculus from Veseys are orange, and one white one.

I'm growing Peppermint Stick Mix zinnias this year and they're looking like they're supposed to. Seed from William Dam - I don't believe I've ever once been disappointed in that company's seeds.

Hmmm, I thought it was you Ang that bought a packet of Candy Canes as well.

Both these packets of seed came from my local Extra Foods, I usually order all my seed but these two were those spontaneous pick me ups, you know what I mean, you go to the store just for milk and bread and by golly somehow more seeds got in your bag.

I bought the Cherry Blossoms from McFayden and the pic in the catalogue was bright pink with a black bee. What I got was pale blue with pinky smudges and a white bee. I actually quite liked them, until last fall when I murdered them by moving them. Doesn't sound like it's a very reliable variety. :0

YES, I know what you mean! They constantly jump into my bags too for some reason. I've been buying the McKenzie Seeds from SuperStore/Extra Foods for about 5 years now and this is the first time that something wasn't what it was supposed to be. And everything else I bought this year is what it's supposed to be... well, so far anyways. There are a few things not quite blooming yet, so we'll see!

You know Pudge, I looked up Peppermint Stick Zinnias and these are exactly what I think I have? I'll take a photo soon.

Last year I thought I was starting Hot Peppers but got some yucky tomatoes instead that didn't produce a single fruit.

I don't remember the seed company but they apologised when I complained and promised to send me replacement seeds. I never did get them.

Sharon, i had those last year. I didn't think they looked very peppermint stick-ish, but they did look just like that.

Here's a couple of pics of mine - they've only just started blooming but I have more colour combos than the pale yellow. Also hard to judge from a picture but I would guess that mine have a smaller flower - yours looks pretty big. I do think, though, that the pale yellow were the first blooming and the stronger colours came after. Still about half the plants aren't blooming - are all yours in bloom? Sun's kinda strong and it's gosh awful hot out there for picture taking, but here's what I just snapped off.

Thanks Pudge for your photo... my close up photo makes the flower look bigger than it is. Today, I'm pretty sure it's Peppermint Sticks, like you said the pale yellow ones came first and now I notice that the other colour variations are just starting to bloom now too.

One thing I'm so pleased about is that my 'Zowie' Zinnias were right, are they BOLD!
