any figs will grow here. just depends on which ones you prefer.

I grow LSU Purple, VDB, LSU Gold, and Celeste. Lsu purple fruits year round here. 4th crop in winter isn't very good, but the 3 earlier crops are excellent. Takes a couple of years to age before fruits are excellent. Vdb is very good consistently, but only 1 crop. Lsu gold is very large and sweet. Some people report problems with splitting during rain, but my variant is from Louisiana, and I have had no problems with splitting. Celeste is my old time favorite, but I have not harvested fruit in the last 4 years. All drop due to heat. This year appears that they will make it thru. Not as hot as the past few years. Hard to beat LSU purple, it is as good as VDB, but much larger and fruits year round here.

Celeste will do good. So will Alma from Texas A&M. Lots of folks grow Texas Everbearing which some say is the same as Brown Turkey. Any of the LSU varieties will also do good.
