cutworms, grrr
It seemed that one day my hostas were pristine and flawless and the next day full of large holes. I thought, it can't be slugs doing so much damage that quickly.
Last night after dark, I braved the swarms of mosquitoes and with flashlight in hand went to have a look. I found several cutworms, a few of which were huge. I'm going to venture out again tonight. Any attackers will be dropped into a container of vinegar. Damn them anyway.
