When to share plants

I have lots and lots of tiny violas that have spread so much, I MUST dig them up. And last years shasta daisies have gone crazy and crowded out some of my other plants. Can I dig them and share with neighbours now that they are in full bloom? Is it too late?

I dig and divide all season long from spring to fall. It's always best to do this chore when the weather is on the cool side, but for sure it can be done in the middle of summer, just make sure you cut them back, and water everyday or every other day on these hot hot days.
