Calimyrna (Sari Lop or Smyrna) fig trees are hardy to Zone 8 Texas. However, their hardiness is immaterial if the fig wasp (Blastophaga Psenes) is not present to caprify (pollinate) the figs. The figs of Calimyrna will not mature without hand pollination or pollination by the fig wasp. In North America, the fig wasp is only naturalized to part of California.
