That's my one pet peeve, the lack of a good "ponding" store. Some cities have stores devoted exclusive to pond supplies. To the best of my knowledge I have yet to find one here, but maybe someday we'll see one as home ponds are increasing in popularity.

So, we have to resort to finding the "pond section" at the nurseries or hardware stores. You mentioned Shelmerdines. Maybe try Schriemers Home and Garden, 1505 Molson in North Kildonan. They don't have as extensive of a selection as Shelmerdines though, but I guess it depends on what you are looking for. Maybe phone a few of the other major nurseries and see if they have pond supplies.

I know Cdn Tire, Home Depot and Rona all carry pond supplies though I am not sure about waterfall spillways. I did get my waterfall at Cdn Tire but it is one of those that looks like a hollow grey plastic rock and fills up with water which flows over the top.

Because of the hassle of trying to find different pond things at different stores, I have resorted to buying some items online. One place I have ordered from is Ponds Online Canada (www.pondsonlinecanada.com). I ordered a new pump and they shipped from BC to MB in 3 business days. I was so impressed. I then ordered an underwater pond light from them. They pretty well have everything and if nothing else, it's interesting just to browse their site to see what's available in pond technology.

Thank you so much for posting the site - I didn't know about it. I took a look and now I know what the terminology is for what I am looking for - it is a water weir - they are a little bulky so I'm going to try and find one in Winnipeg to save on freight. Thanks again.
