This is my first year growing figs. I have 3 in pots and have been doing my homework in here to figure out what I needed to do to get figs. I figured it would be at least until next season before I had any figs so this year was just going to establish the shape and form of the plants.

A couple of weeks ago I pinched all 3 figs just to keep their size in check. My goal was just to control the size of the trees, not to get any figs, but when I looked at them the other day, I had figs forming on 2 of my 3 trees!!

I'm in shock! Happily of course!

I'm wondering if there's any chance that the figs will ripen to maturity this year? I'm guessing they are about 2 weeks old or so and I won't get a frost until probably late Oct/early Nov.

Here are a couple of photos of what they look like today. Do you think they'll ripen before the winter comes?
