What's your tip NAF? My only advice is compost, compost, compost.

Also, buy either organic or heirloom seeds, and collect and save them for future planting.

Well, more of a trick I used..............

Last year there were millions of tiny black fly type things hanging around and on all the stems of my 6 tomato plants. I'd be half covered in them trying to pick tomatoes, and I didn't like them in my hair.

I wasn't sure what they were but decided they were probably bad, but if not, a real nuisance at best. There were no other bugs around that they might have been after. There was no way I was going to spray them with anything.

I took a roll of clear packing tape in about 2 foot lengths, wrapped it backwards onto itself at the top of a branch, hung it down,sticky side outwards, and attached it to itself at the bottom. I also put smaller pieces on the smaller stems. I used 4-5 pieces on each plant. By the next day at least half of the bugs were stuck to the tape and by the next day there weren't enough left to really bother me. The only other fatality was a poor little lady bug.

BTW My tomato plants looked ridiculous! I hope nobody else saw them, LOL =:)

I really hope I didn't kill any good little creatures. I haven't seen any of them this year yet.

I'm not sure but I think Safers Soap is considered organic. I haven't had trouble with pests on my veggies for years so I haven't needed to spray. I did use Safers slug bait last year, which I'm pretty sure is not organic, but I know it's non-toxic so I was comfortable with that. As I mentioned in my other thread, I have not one single slug since I covered things with chicken wire.
