Gary,

I have only had a few finches in my yard this year as well. Normally I can't keep my feeders full. I do have 2 pairs of painted buntings and for the first time a hummer going to my feeder. The robins show up every couple of weeks and spend the morning in my yard then leave.

By the way I am in Indian River County.

Yesterday we had a Cooper's Hawk land in our longleaf pine for a while. Still haven't seen my goldfinches any more, but we did see about 4 or 5 couples of painted buntings. That's the most I've ever seen at once, was very exciting to see so many. It was hard to be sure if it was 4 or 5 couples because they kept scaring each other off the feeders, so they never stayed still.
