Today was juicing day,..here you see what some looked like.

Yah, I get scab like that, or even worse, on my Sept. Ruby and my applecrab (Reknown? Rescue?) if I don't spray. First came into my yard about 10 or so years ago, and once you have it I don't think you can ever get rid of it because there's always some leaves that don't get cleaned up in the Fall, then all you need in the Spring is 12 or 24 hours of wet conditions and the scab-spores are flying and re-infecting the trees. Two or three sprayings, 7 to 10 days apart in late May to mid-June seems to be a very effective prevention.

Some trees are definitely more resistant though. My neighbour has 3 trees that are very close to my infected apple-crap, and they never spray and rarely even pick any apples, yet their trees seem immune to apple scab. Don't know the varieties.

Thanks Don,..good to know that I have to watch out, what spray do you use,..if it's not getting much worse then I don't care, for juice it really doesn't matter, .Norland is not really a storing apple.
